6 Weeks Old!

So, Aaron is already 6 weeks old! Very hard to believe that it has gone by so fast! Here we all are on Thanksgiving.  We had a great time at my mom's, and both kids had fun with all the relatives while we were there.
Here is outfit #2 on Thanksgiving- all cuddled up with Dad.
Miss Kelsey posing with the Christmas tree- she helped decorate it this year- amazing that even the ornaments you think could not break actually do! Handy to have a tube of superglue around when you are decorating with a 2 year old!
Pictures of the little man-wide awake in his swing! He sleeps in his swing a lot- between him and Kelsey the swing has been very well used.
A few more pictures of the little guy! He is starting to smile a little, but I am sure it will be months before I can get that on camera.

Kelsey and Aaron posing.  She is good with him still- she got up yesterday and told him "baby aaron, I love you so much, you have very little hands, I am going to kiss them"  too cute!
Kelsey's favorite place to go eat is, of course, Friendlys.
Both kids sitting nicely for a Christmas picture.
Then Kelsey running around the house with her silly winter hat.  It is very warm- she loves the dog ears that hang off of the sides.

Kelsey taking full advantage of the Christmas card photo shoot by striking a pose with the tree! She loves to pose for pictures, and to look at them when she is done.  She asked Santa for a camera for herself this year- we'll see what he brings!

Three weeks old!

Had to start with this- my favorite picture of Kelsey smiling, and looking so big! She has been great to Aaron so far, she likes to touch has hands and feet, and understands she should not poke his eyes or whack him (even though she asked if it was OK to "whack him gently").  She seems to think he is a good little brother  far, and tells him he "nice" every day.

I am not certain about the other households out there, but our house lately is ruled by Dora.  Here is a picture of Kelsey riding her Doracycle, with her Dora jacket on and her Dora sunglasses.  Now, all of these items came from her loving grandparents, but mommy has fallen into the Dora trap as well- her "big girl" bed has Dora sheets- but she is happy to sleep in it every night now that Aaron is here, so what can I say?
Aaron continues to be a cutie! He is three weeks old tomorrow, which is hard to believe! He is sleeping a lot during the day (and not so much at night), and still has his full head of hair!

Kelsey (mid-scream) and Gabby had a great Halloween together! They trick-or-treated, and went to a Halloween party as well. Someone out there needs to make costumes for kids in the northeast- the poor girls had to layer things below and on top of the costumes since it was so cold- though it didn't phase them.
The girls played in the leaves and had a great time!
Aaron got into the Halloween spirit as well, though he stayed home and handed out candy with mom (well, actually, not a single person came to our door, so he stayed home and ate candy with mom).
Kelsey standing very proud with her Jack O'Lantern.  Now we just need to figure out how to get rid of them without her getting upset that they are gone!

Baby Aaron

Baby Aaron was born on October 22, 2010 at 8:45 AM.  He weighed 8 pounds 5 ounces and was 20 and 1/2 inches long.  He has a great head of thick dark hair!

Kelsey came to the hospital each day to see her baby brother.  Kelsey loved that Aaron gave her presents including some new Dora books to play with at the hospital.  She also loved the elevators and snack machine at the hospital.  I am not sure what the other mommies and babies thought about her running up and down the halls, but she had fun!
Here is Aaron's mohawk.  I think he'll need a haircut before Kelsey.
Kelsey really loves her baby brother! Above is a picture from the hospital and below she is "helping" him with his swing.
Kelsey also got special present from her Auntie Jamie- her first gymnastics leotard.  She was very excited to show this off to mommy and Aaron when we got home from the hospital on Tuesday! She wore it to gym in the morning, and then the rest of the day as well. It is her "special gym suit".  So cute!

Gymnastics and Pumpkins!

Here was Kelsey's first week at gymnastics! She loves it there- she plays on the rings and trampolines, and in the block pits and balance beam.  She also loves the songs that they sing.  She is funny- each week they have to walk in and the parent's give the name of the kid to the instructor- each week she runs to the front of the line, tells the instructor "I'm Kelsey, I'm two" and then runs into the gym ahead of all the other kids!

Kelsey loves this dress! She has been wearing it at least once a week all of September, and woud probably wear it more if we let her.  Funny that we can't get a picture of her smiling in it, but seems the camera is not on my side with this one.  Thanks Meg & Mark for the dress!

Here is kiddo at the zoo with the gorillas in the background.  These were her favorite part of the zoo, and we walked through to visit them twice.

Another gymnastics pose! She is getting good at the balance beam!
Here is the first Jack o' lantern of the year- right now we have 2 outside, and she loves to light them up at night and check them out (you can see the dress peeking out in this picture too)

I think that at last we had more than 40 pumpkins.  Kelsey likes to line them all along the driveway and pose with them. With the baby coming, she has latched onto the concept of "brother" and "sister" so each pumpkin seems to have a brother, a sister, a mommy, a daddy and a baby, and she makes certain that they are  all together in their "families" each night before we go in the house.  Hopefully she will be so caring toward the baby....
We also have plenty of gourds.  The picture does not do the pile justice- there are likely more than 40 gourds in the driveway as well. She loves to go and pick them at the farm around the corner!

Probably our last weekend at the beach!  We went last week and had a great weekend- dinner in perkins cove, lots of ice cream and a good amount of beach time, even though we needed warm clothes to be down there.
My multitasking kiddo- she brought her baby for a walk around the house, but needed her purse and her water to go for the walk- I guess just in case she got thirsty wanted to stop and buy something along the way :)

Summer in Maine

We have spent most of our free time this summer up in Maine visiting with Kristen and Cousin Gabby when they come up from Florida. The girls are at the perfect age for the beach- they love to run around the sand, build and smash castles, look for snails and crabs and play in the tidepools. Here are some pictures of the fun they have had this summer so far (please, it can't really be almost over, right?)

Dancing around the house above on a rainy day. And below pointing out something on the beach to each other that must have been very interesting for us to get a picture with both of them looking at the same thing! Kelsey and Gabby have many matching outfits courtesy of the three grandmothers, and when Kristen and I brought them out this summer we were actually asked if they were twins- though we have to assume the person was kidding.
The bibs here say it all- "If Mommy says no, ask Grandma"! Both girls have Gigi under their thumb when it comes to extra snacks, treats and little things.  They have fun with her in Maine.

Kelsey is quite the fish! She loves the pool that we put out on the deck for the days when it is too cold to go and swim in the ocean.
Hooray! We are going to the playground! Both girls love to go there and play on the swings and slides.  We go almost every day!

Castles that the girls built (and later enjoyed very much smashing!)

Kelsey's 2nd Birthday

Kelsey's Second Birthday! It was July 27, so I am late in posting, but I am going to try to keep the blog up more again now that we are on countdown to baby #2- who is coming October 22.
Kelsey loved her crown and the candle in her muffin in the morning.
She had candles in her food all day, even the bananas she had for snack!

Mom and Dad helping Kelsey blow out the candles on her ice cream cake.  Complete with Dora candles- we had to buy 4, since she found them before her birthday and broke two of them.
One favorite new toy is her tent and tunnel. She loves to move all of her toys into the tent then to hang out and have breakfast in it. The tent came with a tunnel as well that she loves to run through.

Kelsey loves Dora and Diego, so these two new Dora dolls were wonderful gifts.  They spend each night with her in her bed and get dragged to the beach, grocery store, and on many other "adventures"
Kelsey with her cake all over her face- she loves ice cream and ice cream cake, and Mommy loves the excuse to take her out to get some.
